2011 Ford F-150 Earns IIHS Top Safety Pick

Jack Schmitt Ford near Maplewood is pleased to announce that Ford Motor Company now has 11 new models on the road which were selected by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) as top safety picks.  One of those is the Ford f-150 SuperCrew.

With its side curtain airbag, AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control, and SOS Crash Alert System, as well as the innovative new trailer sway control; F-150 was a shoe-in for a number of top safety awards.  F-150 has been Ford’s top selling truck for over 30 years now.

Other award winning safety features of the F-150 include; a seat integrated shoulder belt for the front middle seat, a head restraint for the back middle seat, and high-strength steel that provides advanced safety protection.

In order for a vehicle to earn the title of “top safety pick,” it must receive high ratings for frontal, side and rear impact crash safety tests, as well as new tests such as the roof strength evaluation and electronic stability control.
